Event Details

The purpose of the Supervisor course core curriculum is to define the body of knowledge and set of job skills for personnel supervising well control during drilling operations.

Some of the topics included in this course are: Pressure Basics, Kick Theory, Causes of Kicks, Complications, Shut-in Procedures, Fluids, Kick Warning Signs, Kill Sheets, BOP Equipment, Constant Bottomhole Pressure Methods, Regulations, Stripping.

This curriculum incorporates both surface and subsea topics.

Recommended Attendees: IADC recommends that persons in certain positions or job roles attend this Awareness level course.

Course Length: Twenty-four (24) classroom hours are required for teaching the core curriculum for either single stack type. An additional five (5) classroom hours must be added to the course length whenever subsea stack- specific topics are added. Excludes the knowledge assessment time.
